Kevin Lomas' family renew appeal to catch killer three years on

Solihull Editorial 19th Apr, 2024   0

THE FAMILY of man found dead three years ago have renewed their appeal for the public’s help to catch his killer.

Kevin Lomas was found dead in his bedroom of the property he lived in on Stratford Road, Hall Green, on April 2, 2021.

West Midlands Police said the 56-year-old died from a stab wound.

A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder, and released on bail.

West Midlands Police has now released CCTV showing his last known movements, in images captured near home in the days before his death in a bid to jog people’s memory and encourage anyone with information to come forward.

Kevin’s family paid tribute to their ‘son, brother, partner, stepfather and friend’.

They said: “Three years have passed and it’s been a struggle losing you in such terrible circumstances.

“You’re the missing link in our family. Considering you were quite shy when you were young you, embodied everything in life that was bright.

“If anyone felt low, Kevin would lift you. If you needed help Kev would give you a helping hand. He just wanted everyone to be happy & enjoy life as he wanted to do so himself. Tragically this was taken from him. Our poor brother.”

DCI Laura Harrison, leading the investigation, said: “Three years have now passed and sadly we have not been able to get Kevin’s family the answers that they deserve.

“We’ve carried out lots of enquiries in the area, including CCTV, witness and forensic work, but sadly we’ve not been able to gather enough evidence to charge anyone with Kevin’s murder.

“Now that some time has lapsed, I’m hoping that there are people who know who is responsible for this and that they realise that now is the time to do the right thing and come forward.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Live Chat on the force’s website, quoting 20BE/98674C/21.
