A different view: Plea for help in redesign of village centre

Solihull Editorial 19th Mar, 2021   0

A PLEA has been issued for someone with a visual impairment to help in the design of the new centre for Balsall common.

The appeal was made by Andrew Burrow, the chair of Balsall Common Centre Working Group.

So far just under 100 people have put forward ideas on the new centre in consultation sessions.

However a critical aspect of the development will be how easy it will be for all the community to live with.

“We really could do with the help of someone who has a visual impairment to give their experience of the public realm in Balsall Common centre,” said Andrew.

“Our consultants ARUP will know all the ‘rules’ that apply but there is nothing like personal experience of a particular location to help the designers.

“The help needed is a simply chat on the phone with one of the ARUP people.”

Anyone who can help, or knows someone who could help, can contact Andrew by email at [email protected] or call 01676 535 191 by Monday, March 22.
