If you’re gearing up for an unforgettable summer, the city of Birmingham is well and truly with you. The city is planning an astonishing roster of events this year, including festivals, arts events, pop-up dining and nightlife experiences, and much more.

Whether you’re a long-time Brummie or you’re planning a smashing summer trip to the UK’s second city, there will be plenty to keep you occupied in the summer of 2022. If you’re looking for some hotspots worth hitting up and adding to your itinerary, we have got you covered. Check out our roundup of the best entertainment hotspots you won’t want to miss this summer.

Wireless

Taking place at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Wireless will be the biggest festival to hit the city this summer. Up to 50,000 people are expected to descend on the NEC from July 8 to July 10, to get their fill of top international hip-hop acts such as Dave, Cardi B, and J Cole. You can also expect plenty of pop-up food and drink stands from some of the best venues in the city, should you need to refuel in between sets.

NEC

Speaking of the NEC, this summer looks set to be a true standout season for the city’s largest venue. Come to Birmingham on any given weekend and you can expect to be treated to some world-class entertainment and activities. There’s the BBC Garden Festival (19 to 19 June), The Creative Crafts Show (24 to 26 June), and the BBC

Good Food Summer Festival, to name just a few. Make sure to check the NEC website to see what’s on when you’re in town.

Resorts World

Resorts World might just be Birmingham’s largest and most luxurious entertainment venue. This sprawling, ultra-modern pleasure palace has just about anything you could want, including top-notch restaurants, a soothing spa, and the largest casino in the UK. If you’re planning on spinning the slot reels at Resorts World this summer, you might be wondering what sort of gaming fare awaits you. Whether you’re new to slots or a seasoned spinner, you can try out some of the most popular new slots in the UK online for free, to see how you size up. Online slots especially have become a viable alternative in the last decade, with new titles appearing frequently on a monthly basis from established developers like NetEnt and Red Tiger gaming.

Forum

The brand-new music venue Forum was once known as The Ballroom, and played host to some unforgettable moments in the city’s musical history, including performances from Bob Marley and Amy Winehouse. This summer, the massive warehouse space is running a huge roster of impressive parties and cultural events that should keep people of all ages occupied, day and night.

Bongo’s Bingo will be running regularly throughout the summer, so bring your glow sticks and raving kit. Meanwhile, live concerts from the likes of Sean Paul and Let’s Eat Grandma are guaranteed to keep culture vultures happy. Tickets are on sale now for all Forum summer events.

This summer, there are few better cities to spend your time in than Birmingham. You’ll find world-class food, non-stop parties, and some of the best culture that the UK has to offer. See you there!
