Solihull Theatre Company Presents: Sunshine On Leith at Bushell Hall, Solihull School

Despite the challenges faced by local theatre groups in Solihull, the show must go on!

Solihull Theatre Company (STC) is proud to announce their upcoming production of “Sunshine On Leith” from May 28th to June 1st at Bushell Hall, Solihull School.

In light of recent circumstances surrounding the RAAC situation at the Core, STC remains committed to delivering top-notch performances to its loyal audience.

This year, patrons can expect the same high-quality production, set in a bona fide theatre venue, not a school hall. Don’t let the venue name deceive you – Bushell Hall promises a full theatre experience from the moment you step through the doors.

Conveniently located near Solihull Town Centre, Bushell Hall offers easy access for all attendees, with complimentary onsite parking available to ensure a hassle-free visit. Additionally, for those looking to unwind and socialise before or at the interval, Bushell Hall will feature a licensed bar, providing the perfect setting to relax with friends and drinks, just as you would at the Core.

In a bid for greater inclusivity, STC is thrilled to announce a special Saturday matinée performance, which will be a signed performance. This initiative reflects STC’s dedication to making theatre accessible to all members of the community.

Rob Coleman, Chair of STC says:

“We’re excited to bring our production to Bushell Hall and provide our audience with an unforgettable theatrical experience.

“Despite the challenges, we remain steadfast in our commitment to delivering exceptional entertainment to our community.”

Tickets for “Sunshine On Leith” are available now from the box office at the Solihull Core. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this extraordinary theatrical event!

The Show:

Hot on the heels of their hugely successful production of Sister Act at The Core Theatre Solihull, Solihull Theatre Company will be taking to Bushell Hall’s stage with the immensely popular Sunshine on Leith, featuring the songs of The Proclaimers.

The show follows the highs and lows of Ally and his friend Davy as they search for nomality after returning home to Edinburgh from a tour in Afghanistan. Families, friendships and life are not all plain sailing in this funny and moving story about love and life.

Ally’s marriage proposal is rejected by his childhood sweetheart, a nurse disillusioned with her lot.  Meanwhile, Davy gets a job in a call centre while his parents war over the discovery, years on, of father’s infidelity.

Sunshine on Leith is a  jubilant, heartfelt musical about the power of home, the hearth, family and love written by Stephen Greenhorn and featuring the songs of The Proclaimers.

Please note: the Saturday matinee performance will have a sign language operative for those who are D/deaf or hard of hearing.

Venue: Bushell Hall, Solihull School, Warwick Road, Solihull B91 3DJ

Ticket Price: £21

Running Time: Approx 2h 30mins
