Disney on Ice Dream Big at Resorts World Arena

DISNEY fans were treated to a spectacular show as Disney On Ice Dream Big skated into Resorts World.

As far as the eye could see there were children dressed as their favourite characters – among them Elsa, Moana and Belle – ready to watch a magical show.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse ears appeared on several adults – showing no matter how old you are there’s always a soft spot for Disney.

World-class figure skaters transported the audience to exciting worlds where heroes and princesses seek to fulfill their dreams in a live experience that mesmerised all.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse were the hosts of the show, with a little help from Goofy, and transported the young, and young at heart, to far off lands including Arabia and Arendelle.

Aladdin, Abu and the Genie opened the show and set the tone for the rest of the performance with a number of twists, turns and tumbles.

The fantastic costumes helped bring the show to life and it never ceases to amaze me not only how the skaters stay upright on the ice in them but also pull off tricks in them.

The show saw more recent films like Moana and The Princess and The Frog and classic titles like Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid intertwine – giving even those of who are supposed to be responsible adults a trip back to our childhoods.

Both young and old were in awe as Prince Charming swept Cinderella off her feet off from a carriage and they performed a piece with lifts and turns.

Coco brought the festival feel to the ice as Miguel took to the stage along with his chorus of dancers.

Most of the second half was handed over to a extended section of Frozen which saw audience members, including my toddler – but not the eldest, whose mouth was firmly closed – sing along to the show’s iconic songs as Anna, Elsa an Olaf took to the stage.

This for many stole the show as the arena erupted into Let It Go.

The finale saw all the favourites return to the ice one final time in all their finery ready for a Royal party and the message of if you work hard any dream can come true.
