SCHOOLCHILDREN in Shirley had a special day as they raised funds for Children in Need – and gunged a teacher.
Fundraising efforts were in full swing at Kingswood School which also included a non-uniform day, apple bobbing and face painting.
The St James Place school raised £485.00 for the charity.
Headmaster Rob Luckham said: “We feel this is one of those national days when the whole country gets behind one important charity.
“We do emphasise to the children how lucky they are with the life they have and how, therefore, it is important for them to help those less fortunate than themselves.”
The annual UK-wide Children in Need event raised £47.9million this year for children to help projects which support children in the UK.
