AN INVESTIGATION is underway into the cause of a massive blaze at a south Warwickshire business park.

Crews worked throughout the night to bring the blaze under control at the Goldicote Business Park, between Stratford and Ettington on Tuesday.

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service group commander Neil McElvenny said: “An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway and a fire investigation officer will be onsite today (Thursday) to establish how the fire began.

“I would like to commend the work of our crews who have worked tirelessly throughout the Incident to put this fire out, protect surrounding properties and the local community.”

More than 60 firefighters, together with ten fire engines and a helicopter were sent to the Banbury Road park following an emergency call at 1.30pm.

The park, which is home to a number of businesses, was quickly evacuated and no one was believed to have been injured.

After putting out the fire, crews spent the following two days damping down.

Residents were advised to close windows and doors to keep thick smoke, which billowed from the blaze, from entering homes.

The park’s website lists tenants as Watling Hope, Oldhams Removals, JFC Plastics, Lloyd & Malone, All Sofas, Stratford Fine Foods, RSC Retail, Edge2Edge, NFU Mutual branch office, Wovenhill, AVA Consulting, 24×7 Taxis, Unicorn Cars, Area 51 Classified, and Cobnobs.
