YOUNG carers came together to celebrate their dedication, resilience and contribution to their families and communities.

Hosted by Ninestiles, an Academy, the event brought together over 140 young carers from across Summit Learning Trust schools.

The youngsters went to Acocks Green Bowling Centre, where they enjoyed time together, giving them the opportunity to relax, connect with peers and enjoy a shared experience with others who understand their responsibilities.

There werea also speeches by Doug Wright from West Midlands Lieutenancy alongside Vince Green, chief exectutive of Summit Learning Trust, recognising the important role young carers play and praising their strength and commitment.

A specially prepared video highlighting the experiences of young carers was also shared, helping to raise awareness and celebrate their voices.

Organisers also made sure each young carer received an Easter egg to take home.

Vince said: “Our young carers are truly inspirational. Every day, they demonstrate remarkable resilience, compassion and maturity beyond their years, often balancing their education with significant responsibilities at home.

“Events like this are so important in ensuring they feel seen, valued and supported. As a trust, we are incredibly proud of each and every one of them and remain fully committed to helping them thrive both in school and in their wider lives.”
