RETIRED Greyhounds lent a paw and help raise funds for an Elmdon charity.
Volunteers and some of the dogs from Daybreaks Trust Greyhound Rescue and Rehoming Charity were out in Solihull to show how much love these four-legged friends have to give despite being deemed as ‘past their best’ by some.
They raised a whopping £459 on the day and funds will be used for the daily care of the dogs in the kennels, from feeding to grooming and veterinary care bills.
Rob Thacker, who has helped raised over £7,000 since he started volunteering in three years after making a food donation in 2021 was at the event.
He said: “It was a remarkable day as we had one dog booked in for a viewing.
“There was a lot of interest in us as a charity with people wanting to volunteer with us in the future.
“We have an amazing team of trustees, staff and volunteers that help with various tasks everyday at the kennels. That could be kennel cleaning, feeding, walking, grooming, pampering, events, roadshows, fundraising. The list can go on. Every bit of help is needed and we are so grateful of the help.”
