A SERIES of coaching sessions are bieng put on this summer to encourage more people to get involved with fishing.

The lessons are being sponsored by Garbolino and are designed to get beginners into the sport but are also for those with a bit more experience to get some expert tuition.

Trevor Underwood is the coach and he is a National Angler Council grade 1 coach as well as being a trained first aider.

Trevor has been fishing for over 40 years and is a highly skilled and experienced match angler.

The sessions will take place this month on July 18 and 25. Lessons will also be running on August 1, 2, 8, 15, 22 and 29.

Each session will be 3- and-half hours and will comprise of a health and safety induction as well as fish welfare before taking to the bank to start catching.

Morning sessions run from 9.30am through to 1pm while the afternoon lessons begin at 1.30-5pm.

All tackle, kit and bait will be provided during the session. All that is needed are water proofs and a change of clothing.

The cost for the session is £10 per child and places are limited.  Children attending must be aged nine or over and there is a 10 per cent discount if six sessions are booked.

Children attending three sessions or more will be eligible to fish in the coaching final match in September.
