Yardley Hockey Club seeking new players

Solihull Editorial 2nd Sep, 2015 Updated: 21st Oct, 2016   0

YARDLEY Hockey Club is in the process of actively looking for new players and umpires in time for the new season.

The club has seen its umpiring options somewhat depleted during the summer months and they are on the lookout for any recently retired players who are free on a Saturday afternoon to pick of a whistle and ake good use of their expertise.

Yardley has registered to participate in the National Hockey Fest, which is organised by England Hockey, and takes place from August 26 to September 13.

The aim of the event is to encourage anyone to take up the game and with this in mind the club are holding a get together for all players, existing and potentially new, at Small Heath Leisure Centre on September 5 (1pm).

There will also be a meet-up mainly for youth members which takes at the same venue the following day from 11am.

For more information about the visit www.yardleyhc.co.uk or contact the club’s secretary, Peter Brainch, on [email protected]
