TABLE TENNIS: TUDOR Grange Academy are celebrating after being crowned national table tennis champions in Hinckley.
The Solihull school were represented by sisters Lisa and Sophie Rinnhofer, who battled through two qualifying stages to reach the finals.
There, they beat Bradford Grammar School 5-0 and then Horsforth School from Leeds 4-1 to take the under-19 girls’ title.
Sixteen-year-old Lisa said: “We were quite nervous at first but in every qualifying round we got a bit more confidence. We didn’t expect to win today, though.”
Sophie, 12, added: “I’m quite surprised. We didn’t really expect to win and I’m really happy about it.”
