SOLIHULL Moors have completed the loan signing of highly-rated Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Louie Moulden.
The 20-year-old will stay with Moors until January 2 2023 and was a key member of the Ebbsfleet United squad who narrowly missed out on promotion to the National League at the end of last season.
After progressing through the academy systems at both Liverpool and Manchester City, Moulden signed a two-year deal at Molineux in July last year.
Moulden said: “This is a club that did really well last season, so it was a no brainer for me to come and get some games.
“For me, it’s all about climbing and learning my trade. If I can do that here and help the team win and push for promotion, then that’s positive.
“There are some massive teams in this league and some really good quality players, so naturally there will be a jump – I’m excited for the challenge and ready to embrace it.”
Manager Neal Ardley added: “We have known for a long time we needed a goalkeeper and have spent the last couple of months looking into how we can tackle this and all the options.
“We didn’t want a young ‘keeper who was having his first loan but were open to the idea of having a young goalkeeper who has great potential.
“We feel Louie, with his play-off experience at Ebbsfleet, fits the bill – he can play from the back, is good with his feet and is a brave and highly-rated keeper.”
The stopper boasts a wealth of international experience, having played at every age group for England up to under-19’s, including appearances between the sticks for the Three Lions at the European under-17 Championships in 2019.
Moulden also has previous experience in the National League North with Gloucester City, while featuring a number of times on the bench for Wolves in the Premier League.
