SUPERBIKES - Liam Delves hopes for smooth ride at Brands Hatch

LIAM Delves is hoping to avoid a recurrence of the arm pump injury that impacted his last outing ahead of the final round of the 2021 Pirelli National Junior Superstock Championship at Brands Hatch.

The Solihull rider secured an eighth-place finish at Donington Park in his last race to retain sixth position in the rider standings.

And Delves will contest two races in Kent this weekend to determine his final position in the championship – he currently sits on 113 points.

The two races at Brands Hatch gives Delves a chance to move into the top-five although the young rider remains concerned after suffering from arm pump in Leicestershire.

Delves said: “Last time out at Donington Park I suffered a recurrence of arm pump which is painful and leaves my arm numb and impairs my performance.

“I hope this doesn’t rear its head again this weekend as we have two races and a chance to move up the standings.”

Race one gets underway at 2:05pm on Saturday, October 16 before race two begins at 1:45pm on Sunday, October 17 – both over 12 laps.
