A SCHOOL pupil from Solihull won three gold medals competing at the British National Indoor Inline Speed Skating Championships.

Lakshya Yuvaraj, a third form pupil at Solihull School, claimed gold in the dobbin sprint, 300m and 1,000m to win triple gold in Maldon, Essex.

And the three victories saw Lakshya claim the British champion award in her category for the second year in a row.

Lakshya triumphed in all three events in the girls’ 10 to 12 age group category.

She also won both of her heats in the 300m and 1,000m events.

The dobbin sprint is a one-lap individual run to find the fastest time.

Lakshya has trained with Birmingham Wheels Roller Speed Club since the age of seven-years-old.

She races for Birmingham Wheels Roller Speed Club and is coached by former British champion John Fry.
