Solihull Sports Awards nominations remain open until June 3

Solihull Editorial 29th May, 2016 Updated: 21st Oct, 2016   0

THERE IS still time to nominate borough sport stars for the Solihull Sports Awards.

The awards, which have been developed in partnership with Sport Solihull and Solihull Council, aim to recognise talented athletes, inspiring coaches and dedicated volunteers involved in sports across the borough.

Awards up for grabs include Sportsman/woman of the Year (split into able-bodied/disabled), Team of the Year, and Young Volunteer of the Year, among many others.

And for the first time this year, the awards will recognise a club that goes the extra mile to support the community in the ‘Community Club of the Year’ award.

The evening hopes to not only celebrate the sporting achievements of Silhillians, but also recognise the huge amounts of behind-the-scenes work that often goes unnoticed.

The 2016 Awards will recongise on achievements gained between June 2015 and May 2016.

To nominate someon, visit www.solihullactive.com/sportsawardsnominate2016 and complete the nomination form online.

Nominations need to be submitted by 5pm on Friday, June 3 and all nominees must live, or represent a club, in the borough of Solihull.

Shortlisted nominees in each category will be invited to a presentation night at the Arts Complex Theatre on Wednesday, July 6 at 6.30pm.
