CYCLING: RUSS Perry and Ian Cowan of Solihull CC travelled to Worcestershire over the Bank Holiday weekend to take part in the Tour of the Abberleys.
The three-day, four stage, cycle race covered more than 140 miles and six hours of racing for those aged more than 50.
Containing 45 riders, riders came from across the UK for the unique event in the LVRC (League of Veteran Racing Cyclists) calendar.
Russ Perry had a good three days of racing finishing third in his age category and 17th overall.
He moved up the field on the final stage with more than 1,500ft of climbing.
Ian Cowan retired from the race due to illness prior to the fourth stage having been in a position to challenge for honours.
Each Wednesday in May, Solihull CC is hosting ‘No Frills Racing’ at the Tudor Grange Circuit from 7pm.
