SOLIHULL Moors have captured the signature of central defender Alex Gudger from Brackley Town.

He becomes Tim Flowers’ first signing since his appointment as manager last week and the Moors boos is delighted to have secured the services of the talented and experienced player.

Gudger was an ever present with the Saints in his two-year stint at St James Park and was also a member of the squad which came so close to gaining promotion to the National League last season.

The 25-year-old then played at Wembley in the nail-biting FA Trophy win over Bromley.

Gudger progressed through the youth ranks at Nuneaton Town as they won promotion to the Conference but it was at Rugby Town where he made his mark as a 19-year-old.

He went on to play 111 times for them, collecting the Player of the Season award in his first campaign and was subsequently made club captain for the 2013/14 season.

Gudger then signed for Worcester City in the summer of 2015 before moving to Brackley a year later.

At City he played 46 games.
