SOLIHULL Moors Academy youngster Mikkel Hirst has received a call-up to St Kitts and Nevis U20s ahead of the CONCACAF Men’s Championships in Bradenton Florida next month.
The tournament takes place from November 1 to November 21,with group stage matches being played between November 1 and 10.
Should St Kitts and Nevis progress to the knockout stages, Hirst could remain in the tournament all the way up until the final on Wednesday, November 21.
Prior to the championships, Hirst will attend a training camp in Miami, Florida from Wednesday, October 31
The Sugar Boyz have been placed in Group D and will face off against Martinique, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Canada and Panama.
Hirst has been plying his trade out on loan with Midland League Premier side Romulus, getting some important match minutes as he continues his development.
On his international call-up, the full-back said: “It’s really good to be called up. I’m really excited about going to Miami to play in this tournament.
“There will be a lot of decent teams to play against and I’m just looking forward to showing my stuff.
“I’m looking to play my best football as I’ve been told to do from a young age.
“I want to impress the coaches and other players around me.”
Hirst will link up with former Moors Academy youngsters Tyrese Shade and Romario Martin who are also named in the squad heading out to Florida, to once again highlight the ever-growing success of Moors Academy.
