Solihull Blossomfield remain top of the pile after victory over Castle Bromwich

Solihull Blossomfield made it 15 consecutive weeks at the top of Warwickshire League Division 2 with a comfortable victory at home to Castle Bromwich.

The visiting side won the toss & opted to field first. Blossomfield captain Ben Seifas (56) and Edward Thomspon (64) put on in excess of 100 for the second wicket which lay the platform for Nathan Myers (31) to make some quick runs in the second half of the innings. Seifas decided to declare with his side on 240-9 from 48 overs.

Myers was in the action again when he opened the bowling. He and opening partner Harvey Satterthwaite took 2 & 3 wickets respectively to remove the top order. There was some brief defiance from the Castle Bromwich middle order. That was until Naveed Bashir was introduced to the attack. His 4-11 finished the game in the blink of an eye to round off the most comfortable of wins, the visitors eventually being dismissed for 114 with more than 20 overs remaining.

Next up for the league leaders is a trip to struggling Wishaw on Saturday
