SOLIHULL Barons had a weekend to savour as they picked up the maximum four points from their two games.

On Sunday, Barons headed to Teesside to take on Billingham Stars.

In a close encounter, the two sides traded goals throughout the first two periods.

Billingham had the balance of play but Barons goalkeeper Sam Hewitt was imperious between the sticks to keep his side in the game.

Barons ultimately edged out the hosts 4-3, with a winner in the final five minutes from Niklas Ottosson following an Adam Brittle treble.

The night before Barons had edged out Whitley Warriors 6-5 after overtime and penalty shots.

Barons trailed 3-1 after the first period before scoring three times in the second to move 4-3 up.

A pair of Ben Campbell goals squeezed Whitley back in front but Barons were not done yet as Macauley Heywood tied proceedings with 90 seconds remaining.

The game was sent to overtime and ultimately penalty shots, with Barons emerging victorious from Luke Brittleā€™s sudden-death winner.
