TWINS Tom and Harry Smith are among a group of Year 4 Solihull School boys thriving at the sport.

Joined by fellow Solihull School pupils Alex White, Samuel Sitch and Freddie Sunderland, the twins have each been awarded Orange 1 star, which means they have secured the highest LTA ranking available to their age group.

Alex, Samuel and Freddie were also part of a group to recently meet Jamie Murray when the Davis Cup team visited the county.

All of the boys have been selected for Warwickshire County’s training, with Tom, Harry and Samuel participating in regional training. Alex and Freddie will also go on to represent West Warwickshire at the final of the under 9 boys county finals at the Aegon Classic next month.

“The level of tennis being played in the Junior School at the moment is incredible,” said Mark Penney, head of the Solihull Junior School. “The boys’ perseverance and commitment has been extremely impressive, especially given that achieving this rank is an entirely individual feat.”
