Shep Murombedzi agrees to extend contract with one-year Moors deal

FOOTBALL: Fans’ favourite Shep Murombedzi has agreed a new one-year deal to extend his contract with Solihull Moors for a further season.

The no-nonsense attacking midfielder made 42 appearances last season in all competitions with 35 of those coming in the National League.

Only an injury in mid-March prevented him from adding to that tally.

His exciting, dynamic, wing play was missed in the final six weeks of the season as Moors escaped the jaws of relegation.

Shep said of his new deal: “I’m happy to be at Solihull again next season.

“Besides the injury I had towards the end, I’ve enjoyed every minute of my first year here.

“I can’t wait for the games to start again and I believe with the experience we’ve had in our first season we can aim high and give our fans – who I admire greatly – another successful season.

“Liam (McDonald) and staff have done a lot for me since they came to Solihull and I will be working hard to repay the faith they have shown in me.”

Liam McDonald said: “I’m delighted to have Shep on board for next season.

“He’s played an integral part since I came to the club.

“It was evident we missed him towards the end of last season.

“He’s a player who has a lot of potential and I’m excited to work with him again next season.

“He’s had a lot of interest, as good players do, but he’s brought into what we have planned for the club and he’s excited to be part of that again.”
