RUGBY UNION - Bees to play Brackley in RFU Cup

BIRMINGHAM and Solihull Bees have been drawn away at Brackley RFC in the RFU Cup as the Bees head to Northamptonshire for the second time in three seasons this weekend.

The Bees claimed a dramatic 41-38 win when the two teams last met in 2021 having led by 24 points at one stage of the fixture.

The game takes place on Saturday, April 1 with kick-off at 3pm at Nightingdale Close.

In the meantime, the club’s Hornets side, along with a few guest players, took on a mixture of Camp Hill’s second and third side’s.

Camp Hill raced into a 12-0 lead as Bees settled into the game but were unable to make their pressure count as the home side scored an unconverted breakaway try.

However, Bees finally troubled the scoreboard when Mikey Essex broke away from the maul to score in the corner as forwards coach and stand in fly-half Tom Fleming kicked the conversion.

The home side ran away with the game in the second period as Camp Hill crossed three times with Bees unable to add to their tally.
