Promising young sailor Crowthorne earns sixth place finish at national championships

SAILING: A PROMISING sailor from Solihull has been invited to attend the prestigious Eric Twiname National Championships.

Oscar Crowthorne featured as part of Shustoke Sailing Club’s optimist fleetat the 31st ET Championships held at Rutland Sailing Club.

In winds of 15 knots, the club competed against 75 other teams – many of which contained some of the UK’s best Under 15 sailors.

With much of the racing already passed, Oscar and Shustoke were still in contention as the Solihull youngster managed to secure sixth place overall and a top Midland Zone position.




Crowthorne’s teammates also competed well with Scarlett Crowthorne finishing 57th, Ralph Crowthorne 61st, and Harry Marlow 67th.
