FOOTBALL: SOLIHULL Manager Marcus Bignot this week added to his attacking options by signing Brackley Town’s Owen Story.
The 29-year-old former Rushden & Diamonds trainee, Redditch United, Torquay and Hinckley United front runner was signed by Brackley in December 2009 and has made over 150 appearances for the club, scoring 35 goals.
In his time at Brackley he helped them win promotion to the Conference North in 2012, and then made 40 appearances in their first season at this level as they finished in third place, and then were defeated in the play-off final to Halifax.
Last season they finished in seventh and Owen has now racked up 62 appearances at this level, scoring 11 times.
“I am very happy that we have managed to secure Owen’s services for next season, having seen him at close quarters develop as a youngster at Rushden and Diamonds, and then in more recent times at Brackley, said Bignot.
“Not only did I see his potential being fulfilled at first hand, I have also seen a mature, mentally strong character and a genuine nice person develop.”
“We as a club work extra hard in order to create the best professional environment we can, along with a viable business infrastructure, so it’s pleasing when you see all the newcomers of the likes of Owen.
“People want to be a part of this club, and we are striving to improve year on year, to achieve our ambitions both on and off the pitch, and become a successful Community Club for the Borough of Solihull.”
