New sponsorship deal for heptathlete hopeful Ashleigh Bailey

ATHLETICS: A SOLIHULL heptathlon hopeful is gearing up for a successful winter season after receiving help and support from local business Fitness First.

Ashleigh Bailey, of Arden Academy School, has teamed up with Fitness First Solihull in preparation for the outdoor heptathlon season.

The teenager has already competed at national level and achieved a silver medal at the prestigious English Schools Event. Furthermore, Bailey ended the outdoor season on a positive note after finishing inside the top ten and she now moved into the top end of the Under-17 category where she has been predicted to continue her rise in the sport.

Bailey’s goals with Fitness First are to improve her strength and have a solid foundation of conditioning which will set her in good stead for the Indoor Combined Events Championship which are being held in Sheffield next March.

She said: “I am grateful and happy to announce this sponsorship with the gym as they continue to help me pursue and get closer to my dream which is to become a GB junior athlete.

“I want to thank my head coach Paul Deakin for his time and commitment and also thank Solihull and Small Heath.”
