SOLIHULL driver Harrison Morrow secured a race victory and two podiums in the latest round of the Super Classic Formula Ford Championship.
The 17-year-old starred at Silverstone against some of the most experienced Formula Ford drivers in the country.
The grid featured championship contenders, race winners, former champions and highly-regarded guest drivers.
Morrow qualified fourth overall in his 34-year-old Reynard FF92 as the teenager established himself in the leading group of drivers.
Locked in a multi-car battle for victory throughout race one, Morrow completed a brace overtake on the final lap to snatch the race win.
Using a backmarker and slipstreaming tactics to his advantage, the Solihull teenager completed the overtake in style.
The second race of the weekend proved even more dramatic as Morrow took evasive action to avoid the car of a rival who spun ahead of him.
And Morrow was forced off the circuit following contact from another driver later in the race.
Morrow’s car suffered suspension and tyre damage only for the teenager to fight his way back through the field to take second place at the chequered flag.
The final race of the weekend saw Morrow engage in a strategic duel with former champion Luke Cooper.
Both drivers broke clear of the chasing pack and battled each other in a race-long tussle at the front.
Morrow eventually crossed the line just 0.058 seconds behind Cooper after 15 laps of intense racing.
Morrow said: “Silverstone is always a special place to race and the competition was incredibly strong all weekend.
“We knew we would be up against some very experienced drivers, so to be fighting for victories in every race was really satisfying.
“The team gave me a fantastic car and we were able to maximise what we had throughout the weekend.”
The Solihull teenager now switches his focus to the United Formula Ford Championship at Lydden Hill this weekend as he looks to build on his momentum from Silverstone.
