Mixed results for Solihull & Shirley Badminton Club

Solihull Editorial 1st Mar, 2016 Updated: 21st Oct, 2016   0

IT PROVED to be a mixed bag of results for Solihull & Shirley in what was a busy week of action for both the men and ladies sections.

In the Birmingham League, the Ladies’ first team look likely to keep top spot in the First Division after a comfortable 6-0 victory over Birmingham University’s second team.

But unfortunately it was not such good news for the men first team after they found themselves on the receiving end of a 9-0 defeat against the Uni’s first team.

It was better news for those teams that played in the Solihull League with the Combined first team keeping their hopes alive of winning the First Division thanks to an easy 6-0 win over North Birmingham.

The Combined third team team looked likely to get themselves a play-off place for promotion from the Third Division after beating Langley Legacy 6-0, while the Singles team were also in fine form with a 4-1 victory against Longmeadow.
