BLUES Ladies have bolstered their attacking options for the forthcoming Super League signing with the signing of midfielder Alex Windell.
The 24-year-old has joined the Blues from Bristol Academy where she worked her way through the Centre of Excellence and progressed through the Female Football Academy at Filton College before graduating to the first team squad in 2011.
“I am delighted to bring Alex to the club and it is exactly what we need to push us onto another level with her tenacity and technical ability.” said Blues ladies boss David Parker.
“Alex is a player that has been monitored for some time and once the opportunity became available to bring her to the football club there was no hesitation.
“As always, there is more to a player than just what they can do on the pitch, their off the field mentality and overall persona of fitting into our group is a key aspect in our recruitment policy.
“Doing our research and meeting Alex we knew it was the right fit for us. Alex will add even more quality to an already strong midfield unit at the club and given her versatility Alex will be able to add another dimension to our squad.”
The Blues are planning for another season in the Women’s Premier League where they will be hoping to improve on last season’s third place finish, although they came within just a goal of lifting the league title.
