NEW Solihull Moors boss Tim Flowers has continued to strengthen his squad by securing a loan deal for midfielder Luke Maxwell from Championship side Birmingham City.

Maxwell began his career with home town club Kidderminster Harriers and was loaned back to the club after signing for Birmingham in January 2016.

He began his football career in the academy system at Aggborough, and made his first-team debut later that month, aged 17 years and 5 months at home to Southport in the Conference.

He became a regular in Kidderminster’s first team in 2015/16 and in January 2016, signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Blues.

He was part of the Birmingham reserve team which lost the 2016 Birmingham Senior Cup final to Moors.

Maxwell appeared for Birmingham’s first team during the pre-season of 2016 and by the new year was the under-23 team’s joint-highest appearance maker.

In January 2017, he joined Grimsby Town on loan until the end of the season and in September of that year had a very successful three-month loan at Gateshead.
