KNOWLE’S title challenge suffered a setback after leaders Sutton United eked out a 3-1 win at the Robins Nest last weekend.
Sutton now sit nine points clear of fifth-placed Knowle in the Midland League Division Two table, though the Robins do have a game in hand.
Sutton had scored first in last Saturday’s fixture, Tom Massey striking just three minutes before half-time.
Subs Kaine Donald (70) and Jordan Hall (90) also netted for the visitors, while Lewis Cosgrove replied for the Robins.
Meanwhile, Knowle have been handed a trip to Boldmere-based Division Three outfit DSC United in the third round of the Birmingham County FA Saturday Vase. The tie will take place on December 17.
