ONE of the brightest talents in non-league football is joining Sollihull Moors after Jamey Osborne agreed to a move to the newly-promoted Vanarama National League from Redditch United.

The 23-year-old, who plays as an attacking midfielder, will bolster Marcus Bignot’s squad ahead of their debut season at the highest level of non-league following an impressive season at Redditch in the Southern League Premier Division.

Solihull-born Osborne came through the youth ranks at Hednesford Town and was promoted to the first team towards the end of the 2009/10 season.

He went onto make almost 200 appearances for the Pitmen before joining the Reds last season despite attracting interest from the likes of Crawley Town, Notts County & Crewe Alexandra.

Rob Smith, Telford’s manager, the man who helped hone Jamie’s skills in their respective Hednesford days, made a play for the midfielder in the latter part of last season but Jamey stayed loyal to Redditch who were mounting a promotion bid from the Southern Premier League.

Jamey played against Moors several times in his Hednesford days and scored against Moors for Redditch last season in the Birmingham Senior Cup.

He becomes Bignot’s second summer signing following confirmation of goalkeeper Nathan Vaughan’s arrival from Worcester City last week.
