HIGHGATE United three away a two-goal lead and fell to their sixth defeat of the season after losing out 3-2 away at Quorn in the Midland League Premier Division.

The home side wasted two early chances on Saturday afternoon and were made to pay when Lei Brown fired Highgate in front with 21 minutes gone.

Quorn strived to equalise but struggled to create anything in the box and were undone just before the break when some woeful defending allowed Issac Jagroup to double their advantage.

It took Quorn just two minutes after the break to reduce the arrears when James Hicks picked out the run of Nathan Dale who knocked home from 12 yards out.

Quorn were much more threatening after the break and levelled the scores in the 64th minute after Joe Hopewell was brought down in the box and Hicks fired home the spot kick.

Quorn missed another two chances before they eventually went ahead with six minutes remaining. Reece Medway’s cross fell to Callum Thompson who had time to control the ball before firing a low shot past the keeper.
