HAMPTON & SOLIHULL Cricket Club have announced the launch of their new junior cricket academy prior to the 2019 cricket season.

The club have secured services to lead junior cricket throughout the year, which will start this Sunday (3rd February) with a Winter Skills programme – held at Warwickshire College in Henley-in-Arden.

Sessions are to span for eight weeks, sessions taking place between 12:15pm and 1:30pm every Sunday at £5 per week, although the club are offering a discount for children signing up for the full set of sessions, whilst two “scholarship” places are offered for anyone who may find the cost prohibitive.

The programme is focused on offering players of all abilities under the age of 14 the chance to develop their skills, helping them to advance further through junior cricket.

New players to the game are welcomed, whilst parents have the opportunity to discuss the progress made by their children with coaches Steve Perryman and Phil Oliver after sessions during a buffet at the Marsh Lane clubhouse.

Under the supervision of the two coaches, the club saw an emphasis on youth development within the club, with seven under-21 players becoming regulars for the first XI in 2018.

Parents are invited to contact Neena Dogra on [email protected] for more information and to register interest.
