THE FINAL game of round nine of the Heart of England (West Midlands) Summer Petanque League was played at Shadowbrook Lane and saw Hampton boys took on the Swans of Solihull.

Both pairs games went the way of Hampton, with Dan Adams and Jonny Hunt beating Roy Burchall and Bunty Arblaster 13-3, and Pete Earl and Marc Rolf victorious over Penny Bratos and Sue Thurtle 13-5.

Jonny then played Penny in the singles and triumphed 13-7. The consolation for the Swans came in the triples where after a tight game that swung in favour of both teams, the Swans came out victor with a score of 13-7

So a final score of 3-1 (50-28) to Hampton, to put them top of division two with three games to go.

Round 10 will see the Swans playing the Threshers from Whitnash, and the Hampton team will play the Skylarks. Both these games will be played at the Wardens.
