Golf academy's hard work recognised with MacKenzie award

GOLF: THE AL Golf Junior Academies were recognised with the Mackenzie Award from the Golf Foundation for its work with progressing budding golfers.

Based at Hatchford Brook and Forest of Arden, the coaching project team were handed the award at the clubhouse at Wentworth during the BMW Championships last month.

The Mackenzie Award was given to the project that best promotes life skills within in its golf sessions, something the junior academies take very seriously.

Aaron Lansberry, head coach for the junior academies, said: “We’re really pleased with the award and we’re looking to continue improving our work with junior golfers.

“We want to help more children be passionate about golf and help them become great all-round people.”
