JACOB Wakeling’s 95th-minute goal earned Solihull Moors a dramatic 1-0 victory at York City.

Wakeling struck deep into injury time to leave the home side stunned at the LNER Community Stadium.

A chaotic end to the contest also saw Moors player Ben Worman receive a red card after he picked up a second yellow for joining in with the celebrations following Wakeling’s strike.

And the result means Solihull sit 18th in the National League table, two points above the relegation zone.

The game’s only goal came deep into injury time as Wakeling coolly found the bottom right corner from Darius Lipsiuc’s defence-splitting through ball.

Moors players rushed off the bench to join in with the celebrations which initially saw the referee brandish a red card to Dan Creaney.

However, upon realising Creaney had not yet received a card, the referee produced a second yellow card to Worman and then a red with Creaney also booked.

Solihull are next in action against Rochdale on Tuesday, September 23 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Crown Oil Arena.
