ANDY Whing admits ‘individual mistakes’ are costing his side after Solihull Moors missed the chance to reach the third round of the FA Cup for the first time in their history.

Moors suffered a 2-1 defeat against Bromley as Conor Wilkinson’s fine effort put the home side into an early lead only for Omar Sowunmi and Danny Imray to complete the turnaround for the visitors at Damson Park.

Following the club’s frustrating second round exit, Whing admits his side are in a ‘tough period’ after suffering a third straight defeat in all competitions.

Whing said: “I thought the performance was good, we’re kicking ourselves and are frustrated with the goals we’ve conceded, it’s two individual mistakes.

“We’ve lost three games in a week, no team has outplayed us in those three games and we’ve lost every single one, it’s just really frustrating.

“We just keep letting ourselves down like we have all season, individual errors and conceding sloppy goals.

“We’re not getting that rub of the green, we just have to keep working hard, we’re just in one of those moments and tough periods where nothing is really falling for us.

“It’s a big game [against Radcliffe] now, it turns into a massive game, we have to win, there’s no ifs or buts.

“We’ve got to win games of football and it starts next week.”

Moors made the perfect start when Wilkinson lashed a shot into the bottom right corner after just 12 minutes from 20-yards out to leave Bromley stunned.

However, the League Two side, who beat Moors on penalties in the National League play-off final last season, drew level three minutes later from a well-worked set piece as Corey Whitely sent a dangerous ball into the box and Sowunmi finished from close range.

And the visitors completed the turnaround on 61 minutes when some miscommunication between Laurie Walker and Finn Howell allowed Imray to steal in and finish into an empty net.

Moors went close to a leveller later in the half as Wilkinson saw his curling shot from 25-yards out come back off the crossbar.

However, Bromley held on to reach the third round of the FA Cup for the first time in their history at Moors’ expense.

Solihull are next in action against Radcliffe in the FA Trophy on Saturday, December 7 with kick-off at 3pm at Damson Park.
