MATT Taylor admits his Solihull Moors side did not show enough fight in their 3-0 home defeat against Yeovil Town on Non-League Day.
Moors saw their three-game unbeaten run come to an end as Josh Sims, Ciaran McGuckin and Alex Whittle all found the net at Damson Park.
The result means Solihull sit 17th in the National League table, eight points clear of the relegation zone.
And Taylor acknowledged Solihull’s performance fell well-below the standards expected of his side.
Taylor said: “It’s far more than frustrating, we didn’t fight hard enough, we didn’t run hard enough and we didn’t compete well enough.
“The result and the performance is my responsibility but the players need to understand, you’ve got to want to fight harder than the man you’re playing against.
“We have to fight, we didn’t do that, I didn’t see the result coming, that [performance] is nowhere near good enough.
“I accept the criticism that comes my way because it’s part and parcel of the job that you do as a manager.
“However, I totally understand the frustration of the supporters, it wasn’t good enough.
“The performance level was nowhere near good enough and we got exactly what we deserved which was nothing.”
Yeovil broke the deadlock on 28 minutes when Sims burst down the right and saw his low shot deflect past a helpless Ollie Wright.
And the Glovers doubled their lead five minutes after half time as McGuckin turned home Sims’ cross from the right.
The visitors completed the scoring six minutes later when Whittle looped a sensational volley over Wright from 25-yards out following a corner.
Solihull are next in action against Altrincham on Tuesday, March 25 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Moss Lane.
