SOLIHULL Moors have signed defender Tyler French from National League rivals Sutton United.
French made 41 appearances for Sutton last season, who he also captained, and previously played in the Football League with Bradford City.
The 26-year-old centre-back has now made the move to Damson Park becoming the club’s second signing of the summer.
French said: “The set-up at Solihull is excellent and the manager and chairman are so ambitious.
“Working with the manager was one of the main reasons I am here.
“Last season was a one-off, it’s a club that has been competing at the top end of the table for a while now and I want to be part of that.
“I’ll come back in pre-season fit and raring to go and I can’t wait to get started.”
Moors head coach, Matt Taylor added: “You look for leaders and strong characters and Tyler fits the profile we need here.
“He loves defending and reads the play really well.
“With Brad Nicholson signing last week and Alex Whitmore, our Player of the Season, already here we have a really strong mix in the heart of our defence and that gives you a great foundation for success.”
French earned a move to League Two Bradford in May 2019 following an impressive three-year stint in non-league with AFC Sudbury.
He made 25 appearances for the Bantams in all competitions before joining Wrexham in the National League in February 2021.
French helped Wrexham finish as runners-up the following season before departing to Scottish Championship side Dundee in July 2022.
And French achieved promotion to the Scottish Premiership as champions with Dundee in his first season at the club.
He spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Greenock Morton before returning to England with Sutton last season.
