SOLIHULL Moors earned their first win of the season following a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Maidstone United.
An own goal from Craig Ross and further strike from Tahvon Campbell put Moors in command at Damson Park before Jordan Tunnicliffe put through his own net at the other end.
The result means Moors sit 11th in the National League table after two matches and Moors boss Andy Whing
Whing said: “I’m delighted with the three points, we should have won a bit more comfortably.
“We lost to them twice last year, we know how difficult it is to beat Maidenhead.
“When we have a fully fit squad, we’re going to be a really good team, at the minute it’s about finding ways to win.
“We’ve ground out a result and that’s the most pleasing thing.”
Solihull took the lead in fortuitous circumstances moments after the break as Maidstone goalkeeper Ross failed to gather Matty Warburton’s deflected cross and the ball trickled over the line.
And Moors doubled their lead on 55 minutes when Campbell finished James Gale’s excellent low cross from the right from six-yards out.
However, Maidstone reduced the deficit two minutes later when Joe Newton’s attempted clearance ricocheted off Tunnicliffe and into the net.
Solihull are next in action away at Eastleigh on Tuesday, August 20 with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Silverlake Stadium.
