SOLIHULL Moors returned to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 victory against struggling Morecambe.

Goals either side of half time from Conor Wilkinson and Darius Lipsiuc earned Moors back-to-back away victories at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium.

The result means Solihull sit 10th in the National League table, six points outside of the play-off places.

Moors broke the deadlock on 17 minutes when Wilkinson latched onto Alex Whitmore’s long ball in-behind the Morecambe defence and coolly finished past Jamal Blackman when one-on-one.

And the visitors doubled their lead on 76 minutes as Lipsiuc drilled a shot past Blackman from just inside the penalty area after Cameron Green cut the ball back from the left.

Morecambe went close late on as Laurie Walker superbly kept out Paul Lewis’s close-range header before Raheem Conte blazed the follow up well over the crossbar.

Moors almost added a third goal in the final minutes as Blackman kept out Emmanuel Sonupe’s low effort from 20-yards out.

Solihull are next in action against York City on Saturday, January 31 with kick-off at 3pm at Damson Park.
