SOLIHULL Moors played out a goalless draw with play-off contenders Southend United in a stalemate.
Moors held Southend in a drab affair at Roots Hall as the club’s season draws to a close.
The result means Solihull sit 13th in the National League table with three matches left to play this season.
Southend went close early on as Moors goalkeeper Laurie Walker kept out Gus Scott-Morriss’s effort from Harry Taylor’s flick.
Moors responded with a chance of their own as Southend stopper Collin Andeng-Ndi denied Darius Lipsiuc after he pounced on Joe Gubbins’ poor clearance.
The visitors went close again early in the second period as Callum McFarlane forced Andeng-Ndi in to another smart stop.
And the Southend goalkeeper made another save from Lipsiuc soon after to keep the contest goalless.
Moors shot-stopper Walker then denied Keenan Forson after the Southend substitute raced through on goal.
Walker saved the best stop for the game for seven minutes from time as he made an acrobatic save to tip a shot around the post late on.
Solihull are next in action against Woking on Tuesday, April 14 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Kingfield Stadium.
