SOLIHULL Moors claimed a point in a 1-1 draw against Forest Green Rovers to prevent the home side from moving top of the table.
Moors led at the break through Alex Whitmore’s strike only for Nick Haughton to draw Forest Green level after the interval at the New Lawn.
The result means Solihull sit 12th in the National League table, seven points outside of the play-off places.
Solihull stunned the home side two minutes before half time when Whitmore won a challenge for a high ball in the box and lashed a low effort past Harry Isted at his near post.
Rovers almost drew level in first-half injury time as Laurie Walker kept out Harry Whitwell’s powerful effort from 15-yards out.
And Walker kept Moors ahead early in the second period when he reacted sharply low down to keep out Tom Knowles’ header at the back post.
However, the home side eventually drew level on 62 minutes as Haughton worked space for a shot on the edge of the penalty area and curled a low effort into the bottom left corner.
Forest Green pushed for a winner as Walker made another save low down to push Kyle McAllister’s low attempt to safety.
The home side had one last chance to take the points in injury time as Walker parried another Knowles effort before Moors cleared the danger.
Solihull are next in action against AFC Fylde in the FA Trophy on Saturday, December 13 with kick-off at 3pm at Damson Park.
