SOLIHULL Moors have confirmed the club’s retained and released list of players following the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign.
Defender Joe Newton heads a list of 15 players released by Moors at the end of a difficult season for the club.
Newton made 76 appearances for Moors across two seasons and played in the club’s Promotion Final and FA Trophy final defeats at Wembley in 2023/24.
Experienced midfielders Joss Labadie and Gus Mafuta also depart along with defenders Jordan Tunnicliffe and Kade Craig and goalkeeper Aaron Flahavan.
Short-term signings Manny Duku, Elliot Thorpe, Marcel Oakley and Joe Dodoo will also leave the club.
Duku scored four goals in just nine appearances to help Matt Taylor’s side retain their National League status for another season.
Youngsters Ackeme Francis-Burrell, Joel Shambrook, Tyler Bruck, Morgan Owen and Max Martin will also depart Damson Park.
The club remain locked in negotiations with a number of players including James Clarke.
Clarke has made more than 150 appearances for Moors since making his debut for the club in November 2021.
Moors are also negotiating new deals with Tahvon Campbell, Szhem Whyte-Hall, Finn Howell, Kian Ryley and Finley Holmes.
Loanees Fletcher Holman, Robbie Cundy, Ethan Sutherland and Jack Wells-Morrison have all returned to their parent clubs.
Moors have nine players under contract for next season, although midfielder John Bostock has been made available for transfer.
Captain Jamey Osborne, striker Conor Wilkinson and forward Jack Stevens will remain with Moors next term.
They are joined by Laurie Walker, Alex Whitmore, Olly Tipton, Bradley Stevenson and Sam Bowen.
Moors director of football, Stephen Ward said: “It is always a really tough day when you have these conversations with players.
“Not only are you saying goodbye to good players who have contributed to the team, but you are also losing really good people.
“It is specifically hard when you are losing players who have come through our academy system but we hope we have helped them build foundations to continue on their football journey.
“On behalf of myself, head coach Matt Taylor and our chairman Darryl Eales we wish all departing players the very best for the future and we thank them for all their efforts during their time at the club.”
