SOLIHULL Moors conceded deep into injury time to suffer a cruel 1-0 home defeat against title-chasing Rochdale.
A freak 95th-minute goal from Joe Pritchard settled the contest as Moors lost at home in the league for the first time under boss Chris Millington at Damson Park.
The result means Solihull sit 10th in the National League table, seven points outside of the play-off places.
Chances were at a premium in the first half with the best chance falling to Rochdale’s Devante Rodney who saw his near-post shot saved by Laurie Walker.
After the break, Rochdale goalkeeper Oliver Whatmuff held Jacob Wakeling’s flying header after James Clarke delivered a ball into the box from the right.
The visitors created a chance of their own moments later as Walker held Rodney’s tame flick from close range.
A length-of-the-pitch almost paid dividends for Moors when Darius Lipsiuc ran with the ball from inside his own half only to see his low shot comfortably saved by Whatmuff.
Rochdale troubled Walker in injury time as the Moors stopper tipped Ryan East’s powerful low effort from 20-yards out behind for a corner.
However, the visitors snatched the points five minutes into stoppage time when Pritchard’s cross from the left caught in the wind and nestled in the top-right corner of the goal.
Solihull are next in action against Morecambe on Saturday, January 24 with kick-off at 3pm at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium.
