SOLIHULL Moors suffered a 3-0 defeat against Championship side Oxford United in their latest pre-season outing.

Moors succumbed to goals from Mark Harris, Tyler Goodrham and James Golding at Damson Park.

Solihull goalkeeper Laurie Walker held Cameron Brannagan’s early free-kick before Alex Whitmore superbly blocked Harris’s goalbound effort.

However, Oxford took the lead soon after as Harris slotted the ball into the bottom right corner when one-on-one with Walker.

Moors keeper Walker kept the home side in the game with a couple of excellent stops in quick succession as he denied both Brannagan and Gatlin O’Donker

Solihull’s first attempt on goal came in the 32nd minute as Jack Stevens cut in from the wing and fired a shot wide of the post.

Just three minutes later, Oxford doubled their lead through Goodrham who found the net from the edge of the penalty area via the aid of the woodwork.

Moors spurned a golden chance to reduce the deficit early in the second half as James Gale’s effort hit the outside of the post.

O’Donker and Will Goodwin both went close for Oxford before Golding completed the scoring with a header in the final minute.
