ANDY Whing praised his side’s ‘intensity and desire’ after Solihull Moors eased to a confident 3-0 win against Ebbsfleet United.

Tyrese Shade scored his first goals for the club either side of Jamey Osborne’s deflected strike as Moors ran out comfortable winners at the ARMCO Arena.

And Moors boss Whing also praised his side’s mentality after securing their place in the FA Trophy final last weekend.

Whing said: “I thought we played really well in spells, it was some of the best football we’ve played for a while.

“Our mentality has to be onto the next one and the next one, after a euphoric day at the weekend, we were outstanding in terms of that.

“The intensity and desire off the ball to keep a clean sheet was unbelievable, that’s what has ultimately won us the game.

“We’ve got quality in abundance through the squad now, if we have that intensity, hard work and desire to keep clean sheets, we’ve got enough quality to go and win games of football.

“Every game is a big game now from now until the end of the season, we’re in a great run of form, we’ve lost two in 17 games, if we are going to get in the play-offs we need to keep that momentum going.”

Moors took the lead on 19 minutes when Shade latched onto James Clarke’s clever through ball before showing great composure to finish through the legs of Fleet goalkeeper Mark Cousins.

The home side missed a number of chances to extend their lead before the break Tahvon Campbell and Joe Sbarra both failed to find the net.

However, Solihull doubled their lead on 71 minutes when Osborne’s shot from 20-yards out deflected past a helpless Cousins.

And Moors added their third goal three minutes from time as Shade lashed an unstoppable effort into the roof of the net after driving into the penalty area.

Solihull travel to Bromley on Saturday, April 13 with kick-off at 3pm at Hayes Lane.
