FOOTBALL - Robins still unbeaten after Boldmere win

Solihull Editorial 4th Oct, 2022   0

KNOWLE maintained their unbeaten start to the season as the Robins laboured to a 2-0 win against struggling Boldmere Sports and Social Falcons.

The Robins struck in either half through Owen Ward and Reece Hewitt to secure their fifth win of the campaign at The Draintech Community Ground.

Knowle now sit second in the Midland Football League Division Two table and are the only unbeaten side remaining in the division.

In a game that lacked quality, Knowle took the lead on 30 minutes when Ward received a great pass and found the net via the aid of the post from 18-yards out.

Knowle went close to extending their lead as Dylon Bennett shaved the bar from distance before Jack Mullen was denied by Boldmere goalkeeper Rikki Danton.

The Robins spurned a golden chance to double their advantage in the second period when Bennett’s tame penalty was easily saved by Danton.

However, Knowle made sure of the points on 70 minutes when Hewitt finished off a fine move after good work from Bennett and George Seeley down the right.

Knowle are next in action away at third-placed AFC Coventry Rangers on Saturday, October 8 with kick-off at 3pm at Coventry Technical Rugby Club.
